What is ADHD?
YES, ADHD is a real thing!
Granted, ADHD is often misunderstood... and why wouldn't it be with a label like "Attention Deficit, Hyperactive Disorder"? Beyond the label, however, ADHD is described as "unique brain wiring which requires engaged interest with a clear, purposeful intention in order to activate and access attention so an individual can manage the brain’s executive functioning."
ADHD impacts the whole-health of a person; school and work, family and friends, self-care practices, and perhaps most importantly, the relationship we have with ourselves.
ADHD can make it hard(er) to:
Despite the rather daunting list above, however, having ADHD or executive functioning challenges doesn't mean you're "broken". Through our ADHDjoy ADHD Coaching services, we help our clients to understand themselves, who they are, what their strengths are, and how to leverage their ADHD superpowers so they can do GREAT in their lives and in the world!
GAIN MASTERY OVER YOUR ADHD SUPERPOWER
...even if it doesn't feel like a superpower *yet*! ADHD comes with a variety of benefits AND challenges, yet those challenges can cloud your ability to identify and work with what makes your unique brain-wiring work in ways that support YOUR best hopes.
Everyone's ADHD affects them differently. Coaching allows you the time and space to delve into who you are, harness your strengths and resources, and then get support to test out using those in new ways to use as a foundation to fuel your actions and show up in the world as your best self.
Our coaching is founded upon evidence-based research and proven strategies. Our focus is to provide structure and support to facilitate positive change where our clients develop a sense of self-agency, and create sustainable systems and structures that support executive functioning, social skills, and more!
Your Goals. Your Way. But Not Alone.
ADHD Presents Differently for Everyone
ADHD varies greatly from person to person and even changes over time. What works for one may not work for another, and what worked before may not be working now. Some people find their ADHD helps them in life while others face significant challenges with it; many fall somewhere in between.
Why Coaching Helps
Working with a trained and certified ADHD Coach can make life easier— research supports this! Coaching helps you understand yourself and your ADHD, increasing self-awareness to identify and clarify what you want to change in your professional, academic, personal, and/or social life.
Focusing on the "Who"
In ADHD coaching, you're in the driver's seat. The journey centers on who you are, not just what you do or how you do it. This coach approach ensures we don't lose sight of yourself in the process of the external goal - we keep steady on what truly matters to you - that which brings you joy, meaning, and purpose.
Bridging the Gap
Coaching bridges the gap between where you are now and where you want to be. We focus on both the "what" and the "how" with a trusted partner whose only agenda is your success.
